Jack Cole was the marshal of Mercy Ridge. After the death of his family, he laid down his badge and set out to find Nora Cain.
He knows her guilt and has not forgotten it in all the years he searched. But when he finally stands before her again, doing what he came to do proves harder than he expected.
Nora Cain
This time, she does not run.
Nora Cain left Mercy Ridge after a night for which she holds herself responsible. Ever since, she has lived with what she became and with the knowledge that she cannot undo the loss.
She expects neither understanding nor forgiveness from Jack. When their paths cross again, she does not run.

After years of searching, they face each other again.
Jack spent years looking for Nora. She knew he would come one day. Between them stand the dead, Jack's anger, and things neither of them can speak of.
